This programme may be useful to graduates (fresh and experienced) who intend to develop a gainful career in Agribusiness, Foods, Veterinary, Forestry, Allied and Development sector organisations. It is an ISO 9001:2008 certified Institute.
The institute's board consists of people of eminence, those who have had an association with premier business schools and have contributed significantly to Rural and Agribusiness domain. They include Proff Katar Singh, earlier Director, IRMA; Ram Mudholkar, Director (Marketing) with Du Pont; Arvind Chaudhary, Head Sourcing, Walmart; Nishchint Bhatia, Executive VP with Fritolays etc.
Similarly, the entire faculty is alumni of IIM, IRMA and other premier institutes. They have also had experience in Indian corporate and have painstakingly developed course material that is relevant to the job performance needs of employees of Agribusiness corporates. For many courses, a DVD is supplemented with the hard copies of course material. The DVD contains recorded lectures of respective Professor to help in giving an overview of each chapter. Also, an E mail exchange system has been devised to help students clarify doubts, if any, with the Professors.
This must be among the few distance learning courses that offer admission based on merit. Candidates who have scope of career progression are identified through a written examination and interview. Also, unlike many other distance learning programmes, here the institute undertakes periodic evaluation of students through a series of online quizzes, mid term and end term examination during each of the six terms (trimesters). Whereas you have the flexibility to choose any time of the day or night for taking an online examination, discipline is imposed to ensure that non performers are not allowed to pursue the course.
A mentor is associated with each student. Mentors are themselves senior officers in the industry and can help in day to day guidance to the privileged students of RIAM.
